About

I started working on AfterBoards as a freelancer in 2023 and joined full-time in 2024. I build the product and look after it in production.

AfterBoards and AfterGrad help students prepare for IPMAT, CUET and CAT. I maintain two Next.js apps and two Expo apps, with shared code in a Turborepo. Tens of thousands of students use them. The exam engine has processed more than 100,000 submitted attempts and supported roughly 500 people taking exams at once.

During one live session, Razorpay went down. I switched checkout to Cashfree in about thirty minutes. I’d already integrated both behind the same payment interface, so I could make the switch without building a second checkout during the outage.

I’ve been freelancing since 2020, including work with international clients. Recent projects include billing software for a transport business and an ordering platform for a pharma wholesaler. Much of the work is learning how the business already operates: what goes on a bill, how payments are matched, and which records the staff trust. The case studies cover those projects, and the systems page explains some of the implementation.

I write about projects, mistakes, and things I’ve had to work out along the way.
